Good day my friends, I come to speak to you
About this year, the one we've just been through
I hope you got the time to come and see
Some seminars and try to eat the free
Food that we provided without a fee
Its been a year with lots of fun and we're
Amazed at all the talks we got to hear
In March alone we got to listen to
Some five enthusiastic speakers who
Gave us some useful maths on which to chew
Thirteen in all but more is still to come
But thankfully today my job is done
And who should be so fortunate to take
My place in this fine bunch for goodness sake
Now listen there are lessons you must take
From me I give to you some sound advice
So all you need to do is add some spice
You need to book the rooms well in advance
And take two hours not one, when given the chance
So snacks and drinks the afternoon enhance
Publicity should be put up around
The building here in which we are now found
At least three days before the event's date
With posters that the cleaners love to hate
And email spam which makes us all irate
But make it fun and please don't be a bore
Use catchy titles and some words like phwoar
We need to bring the maths to common folk
Maybe break the ice with an awful joke
But don't do what I've done in subjects – choke
So now its time for me to leave you now
I step down with grace, poise and furrowed brow
It has been fun, it has been quite a ride
But to my honours desk I go to hide
I did enjoy myself I must confide
